In Saigon today, there are many matcha workshops. But for Midori, matcha has never been a passing trend. To us, matcha is a moment to pause, to slow down, and to find true connection through a single bowl of tea. That’s why, when it comes to hosting workshops, we don’t look for self-proclaimed “tea masters.” We choose only the people we truly cherish.

For us, that person is Kim Anh Đoàn (@herlittlekitchen).

Kim Anh has been a long-time friend of Midori. Even though she lives in Hanoi, she always flies to Saigon to join us in each workshop. She brings not only her deep knowledge of Japanese tea but also a warmth that makes every gathering unforgettable. Both Midori and Kim Anh share the same belief in Ichigo Ichie—that each encounter is unique, happening only once in a lifetime and never to be repeated.

Although Midori’s workshops come in just two formats: Matcha Basics and Beyond Matcha, no two sessions are ever the same. Kim Anh is always exploring, creating, and bringing back rare teas from her travels to share with everyone. And of course, there are always the delicate wagashi—small yet intricate, like works of art—that complete the experience of tea.

In a world that never stops rushing forward, we choose to slow down. To treasure the people and values that truly matter to us. That’s why Midori continues to work only with Kim Anh, time and again. Each workshop is special—not because it’s rare, but because it can never be repeated.

A bowl of matcha is an invitation to pause. A sip of tea is a reminder: this moment will never return. And that is exactly what we hope you’ll feel when you sit with us at Midori.

Follow Midori to join the next workshops with Kim Anh—where every moment, every bowl of tea, every wagashi carries a story of its own.
